Adding & Editing Accounts
Create, update, and manage your accounts.
Creating an account
To add a new account, go to Accounts → New Account.
Required fields:
- Name — something you'll recognize, e.g. "BCA Main", "GoPay Wallet", "BTC Cold Storage"
- Type — cash, bank, credit, savings, or crypto
- Currency — ISO code, e.g.
IDR,USD,BTC
Optional:
- Note — any extra context you want to remember about this account
What you can't change after creation
Type and currency cannot be changed after an account is created. Changing either would corrupt all the historical balances and analytics tied to that account.
If you created an account with the wrong type or currency, create a new account with the correct settings and transfer the balance over.
Editing an account
You can update these at any time:
- Name — rename it whenever
- Note — update or clear the note
- Active status — toggle visibility
Everything else stays locked to protect your history.
Deactivating vs. deleting
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Deactivate | Account is hidden from dashboard and analytics, but all transactions and history are kept |
| Delete | Account and all its transactions are permanently removed — this cannot be undone |
When in doubt, deactivate rather than delete.
FAQ
Can I have multiple accounts in the same currency? Yes — as many as you want. Most people have a main bank account, a cash account, and maybe a savings account, all in the same currency.
Can I have accounts in different currencies? Yes. Each account has its own currency. See Net Worth for how they're combined in analytics.
My account type is wrong — can I change it? No. Create a new account with the correct type, then record a transfer from the old account to move the balance over. You can then deactivate the old one.
